I'm Mounica, a Telugu mom and the founder of Little Caterpillar Publishing.
As a mom who has lived in both the United States and Canada, I know firsthand the joy—and the challenge—of raising a child connected to their Telugu language and culture while growing up abroad. When my son was young, I searched for fun, practical resources that would help us learn Telugu together at home. What I found was that there simply weren't enough engaging, modern materials designed for families like ours.
That's when I decided to create them myself.
Little Caterpillar Publishing began with a simple dream: to publish Telugu children's books that my own son would love to read. But as I connected with other parents, I realized many families were looking for something even more foundational—hands-on tools that would make learning Telugu letters easy, interactive, and enjoyable.
That insight led us to expand beyond books.
Today, Little Caterpillar Publishing offers thoughtfully designed learning resources, including our Magnetic Telugu Alphabet Set, Telugu workbooks, and other educational materials that help children build confidence in reading, writing, and speaking Telugu. Every product is created with one goal in mind: making it easier for parents to teach Telugu at home in a way that feels fun instead of overwhelming.
We believe language is more than words. It's how children connect with grandparents, understand family traditions, and develop a strong sense of identity. By giving families simple, engaging resources, we hope to make Telugu a natural part of everyday life—whether it's through play, stories, conversations, or learning together around the kitchen table.
What started as one mom's desire to teach her own son has grown into a mission to support Telugu families around the world. Every resource we create is inspired by real parenting experiences and designed to help the next generation stay connected to their language, culture, and roots.
